The story, scenery, cinematography and characters were amazing. Played through the game in one sitting and very much enjoyed. For the price that this game is, definitely worth a try. tl;dr: Recommended but wait for a sale.I've got some mixed feelings about this one. I'm a fan of Red Thread since you know, Dreamfall: Chapters. But Dreamfall had so much source material, so Draugen was going to be the real test of this team. And indeed it did.It was a beautiful product. Brilliant characters, flawless dialogue and a generous, tremendously good scenery. But on the story side of things, i'm not sure if i'm satisfied or not. Minor spoilers, but the 'game' has two seperate stories. One is about the protagonist's own, personal story and the other is about the townsfolk's mysterious vanishing. It certainly had a great potential. I really expected some great things. They could've turned this into a phenomenal mystery, very easily. But the writer(s) of this story simply chose the easy way out and ended the story with such minor explanation. It's not a matter of "i did not understand what happened" but it's a matter of "they did not care to explain it, at all." Because that seems to be the case here. Draugen could've easily become one of the best walking simulators to date, but it fails to give what the player really wants. That sense of satisfaction that is granted at the conclusion of a mystery. Draugen simply does not have that. It just, ends. Although i feel slightly disappointed by the way things came up to be, i am happy that they're gonna turn this into a series. So much potential to be the next Broken Sword. We'll see.. Well....I was waiting for this game with excitement. The graphics are very beautiful. The setting of Graavik is so beautiful that I could imagine living there even. They really paid attention to the details to take you to the 1920s in Norway. The sounds of nature, the music wants you to stay here and explore. The voice acting is pretty good, I've recognized Bolton's voice immediately (voice of Kian Alvane in Dreamfall Chapters).Regarding the plot, I realized the "relation" of Edward and Alice quite soon therefore it wasn't a surprise for me - probably it was meant to be discovered early on?However the 3 hours of playtime was disappointing for me. Also, the biggest secret of the village in the end was not even shown, which was also quite disappointing (if it even exists?). Also, even if it was made to seem like that, you have no real choices in the conversations. (I can actually understand why you have no choices, it's your relationship with Alice that makes that impossible, in my opinion.)I feel that I would be much more satisfied if the game would have been longer. The story was too short. That's the only reason why I decided not to recommend this game. I feel that there could have been much more done here. This way it somehow feels incomplete. However, I will not ask for a refund, I really enjoyed those 3 hours. And I'd like to support the developers. But I really hope the next game will be more satisfying.. Draugen is a walking simulator with a linear story that lasts about 3 hours. The environment of the game is very beautiful and they have used plenty of refrences of old houses and such to how things looked in the 1920s.Story is a bit weird, as it keeps intertwining two stories together. The story is that you are coming to the village "Graavik" to find your sister, but when you arrive there things are not as they should be and you start an investigation with your companion Alice. The stories themself are fine but you can clearly tell which storyline it's put the most effort into, atleast from what i can tell. The ending is a bit lackluster, it's pretty easy to see where it would go pretty fast but the dialouge and what you find on the way to that ending is game, but sadly it feels like it didn't hit hard enough. the ending felt like it didnt really have a conclusive ending to one of the storys and the ending is up to yourself to what you think it will be. Summary The game is a walking simulator that will be done pretty fast but good enviorment, music and tensions from time to time.its a decent game, but i feel like i don't have a reason to replay it, even if i did some of the other choices, which probarly dont have any impact on the ending either way.. Touts itself as a "psychological thriller" and misses that mark completely. It's about as thrilling as a basic drawing of a ghost being wafted in your face. A walking simulator peppered with an investigative story where the game is showing you what you need to investigate, killing any sort of suspense or whodunnit that could have been.Sure there are some thrilling and suspenseful moments, but after it happens you can't help but just shrug it off and forget about them. You want plot twists? This game has them too! The only issue is that they twist themselves right back and there's no actual consequence. It's a game trying to put its nose so far up its own rear end and say "Games ARE art!" that it just becomes boring and predictable. The game is pretty. But it's pretty far from good.. A mostly successful attempt to return to form by the people at Red Thread Games after struggling to finish the story of Dreamfall Chapters. This time the story is kept relatively small and contained without a lot of moving pieces, while still feeling like it is building toward a bigger world. It can, at times, feel a little bit disjointed, but I believe that is largely by design. The atmosphere and voice acting is top-notch, while the gameplay is akin to most 'walking simulators'. In the end it made me wish the game was slightly longer, but only because I wanted to spend more time with these characters and further explore their world.
